English

English is taught by a team of specialists in seven one hour lessons per cycle in the lower school and nine in the upper school. Each year group follows a common programme of study, covering the requirements of the National Curriculum. In Years 7 and 8, half an hour of this time is scheduled in the library. Theatre visits and Readathon are an important part of our annual cycle and World Book Day and National Poetry Day are celebrated in a variety of extra curricular activities. We offer AS and A2 studies in English Language and English Literature.
