ADMISSIONS CONSULTATION FOR 2020-2021
Tarporley High School and Sixth Form College is consulting on its proposed admission arrangements for the academic year 2020-21. The consultation will run from 13 November 2018 until 22 January 2019.
The Governing Body of the school are consulting on making a change to the wording of criteria iv of the school’s Admissions Policy. This criterion currently reads:
iv. Students resident within the designated catchment zone of the school, together, with students living in the catchment zones of: Bunbury Aldersey CE Aided Primary School, Calveley School, The Delamere C of E Academy, Duddon St Peter’s Primary School, Eaton Primary School, Kelsall Primary School, Tarporley CE Primary School, Oakview Primary Academy, Tarvin Primary School, Utkinton St Pauls C of E Primary School and Whitegate CE Primary School.
It is proposed to change the wording of the criterion to:
iv. Children resident within the designated catchment zone of the school. Children will be classed within this category if they and their parents/carers are resident within the area served by the school on the closing date for applications.
The rationale for this change is that the current criterion leaves the academy vulnerable to changes imposed by the other admission authorities who set the admission arrangements for the primary schools listed. As the criterion currently reads, should one of the admission authorities choose to amend or extend their definition of catchment area this would have a direct impact upon the application of the admissions arrangements by the academy. It is therefore proposed to make the change outlined to address this situation.
Details of the proposed admission arrangements are available on the Admissions page of the school’s website.
Comments on the proposed amendment to the Admission Policy should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You may also participate in the consultation by post, by writing to Miss Pamela Zborowski, Clerk to the Governing Body, Tarporley High School and Sixth Form College, Eaton Road, Tarporley, Cheshire, CW6 0BL by 22 January 2019.
All admission authorities must determine their final admission arrangements for 2020-21 by 28 February 2019 and notify their Local Authority by 15 March 2019.
