Transition

All students are made to feel welcome, especially those transferring from primary to secondary school each Autumn.

Very strong links exist between our neighbouring Primary Schools and the High School, ensuring the fullest possible knowledge of the children and curriculum arrangements in each school throughout the year. Our comprehensive and supportive transition programme is designed to ensure that students who join Tarporley settle in easily and make friends quickly.

Throughout the year we have a full liaison programme which includes three Challenge Days, taster mornings and a residential visit to the Conway Centre in North Wales. Our residential trip provides an opportunity for children to build relationships and develop new friendships in a safe and structured setting.  Children are also encouraged to embrace new experiences and are challenged to set high aspirations in preparation for their journey to secondary school.
