Drama

“I regard theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.”

Oscar Wilde

What Can You Expect Studying Drama at Tarporley High School and Sixth Form College

Key Stage 4 – GCSE Curriculum

The GCSE Drama course encourages students to work imaginatively and creatively in a collaborative context.  Students will develop their practical skills in creating drama through a range of stimulus material and play texts and will create written devising log based on the process and final performance of their devised piece.
Students will also have the opportunity to attend live theatre visits and will use digital theatre as a tool to develop their analysis and evaluation skills.  This course also offers students the chance to devise theatre and take on the role of a director within the devising process.

How we assess at KS4

This course is based on coursework, a practical examination and a written exam paper.
